'Everything Equally'

Public spaces, often created by town planners, maintained by councils and ideologically 'equal for all', in reality have restrictions of use imposed upon them, which may leave us with a sense of oppression and claustrophobia.

In response to the theme, 'Everything Equally', I have recorded subtle evidence of the factors that influence the identity of a space over time, in the coastal town of Donaghadee, County Down in Northern Ireland. By witnessing the traces that people and nature have left behind, perhaps in an attempt to reclaim the space, these photographs represent a place with an ambiguous purpose, yet paradoxically, it is this that helps to define its identity.
